The new edition of the annual oil and gas forum of Turkmenistan – OGT 2022 – is published under the title "Environmental aspects of hydrocarbon resources extraction".

On Thursday, June 23, Ashgabat once again gathers leaders from government authorities, businessmen and experts of the energy sector to discuss policies, strategies and tactics in the changing – not lightning fast, but radically – landscape of the field of activity. Representatives of international organizations, academic and diplomatic circles, environmentalists and investors, financiers and researchers, analysts and innovators are invited to the discussions.

The "green turn", of course, did not happen immediately on OGT, its previous editions have already broadcast this topic from different angles, and very intensively, but this time it has become prevalent precisely in the aspect of the transition to the energy of a new era.

The main organizational stages of the "transition" and its key stages are indicated in the topics of the sessions on the work program of the forum.

Since the work of the forum is based on the intersection of hydrocarbons and ecology, most of the reports and presentations will focus on an adequate resource response to global challenges in energy supply today and tomorrow due to new approaches and technologies.

More than 100 participants from different countries have registered at the current Ashgabat forum, which will be held in a hybrid format, and more than 30 speakers representing the world's leading oil and gas companies and various international institutions are expected to speak.

Among them: the International Energy Agency, the International Methane Emissions Observatory, OPEC, UNESCAP, UNDP, OSCE, SPE, etc.

Turkmenistan will be represented by many ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Concern "Turkmengaz", the State Corporation "Turkmengeology", the Research Institute "Turkmengaz" and the Research Institute "Turmennefti", the Ministry of Energy and the Renewable Energy Development Service of the State Corporation "Turkmenenergo".

Among the international participating companies are such as GaffneyCline, Honeywell, Schlumberger, Vitol, Sojitz, Petronas, Dragon Oil, Shell, Itochu, Mitsubishi, Bouygues, etc.

In addition, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Oxford Institute for Energy Research, the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the Yagshygeldy Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas have been announced to participate.

Foreign agencies also showed interest in covering the event, including RIA Novosti, Reuters, TRT, Associated Press, France-Presse, Interfaks, Trend, Mir 24, Russia 1 TV channel, etc.
