Turkmenistan and Iran to strengthen cooperation of special services in the fight against international terrorism


President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed to organize meetings of the heads of the special services of Turkmenistan and Iran on the fight against international terrorism. He said this during talks with Iranian President Raisi in Tehran on Wednesday.
The Head of State noted that the fight against such threats as international terrorism, drug trafficking and organized crime occupies an important place on the agenda of political and diplomatic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran.
At the same time, according to Berdimuhamedov, the issues of ensuring the security of the border between Turkmenistan and Iran remain relevant.
In order to develop coordinated solutions in this area, it was proposed to hold the 15th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on consular, border and customs issues in November this year in Ashgabat.
