Ashgabat to host meeting of special representatives of Turkmenistan and Iran on Afghanistan
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi during talks held on Wednesday in Tehran discussed the actions of neighboring countries of Afghanistan that contribute to its political and economic stabilization.
The head of Turkmenistan noted that an important role is given to regional infrastructure projects that involve Afghanistan in energy, transport and communication international relations. Turkmenistan is already implementing a number of such projects, Berdimuhamedov said, stressing that these projects are an investment in the future not only of Afghanistan, but of the entire region.
In line with the continuation of active cooperation on the Afghan problem, the President of Turkmenistan proposed to hold consultations of the special representatives of the two countries on Afghanistan in the near future.
