The increase in trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Iran was discussed at the summit talks


The expansion of trade and economic cooperation and an increase in the volume of trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Iran have become topics of negotiations at the highest level, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said at a briefing following a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ibrahim Raisi, Mehr news agency reports.
The Turkmen leader said that the heads of state also paid great attention to the development of relations in such strategically important areas as energy and transport during the negotiations. The sides also supported the expansion of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the countries.
During the meeting, Serdar Berdimuhamedov invited Ibrahim Raisi to visit Turkmenistan to participate in the sixth summit of the heads of the Caspian countries, which will be held this year.
Another topic of the talks was the situation in Afghanistan, the Turkmen leader said. Turkmenistan and Iran want Afghanistan to become a prosperous state and be able to participate in important national and regional projects, President Berdimuhamedov said.
