President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed Deputy Prime Minister Sapardurdy Toylyev to organize an explanatory campaign for the population about where and in what cases masks should be worn now, and in which cases they should not.
According to the head of state, the media should be more actively involved in this work – local publications and TV channels.
Wearing masks was an element of a set of preventive measures aimed at countering the threat of the COVID‑19 pandemic.
Earlier, Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved a proposal to weaken the mask regime in Turkmenistan from June 1, leaving it mandatory only for public transportation and enclosed spaces with a large crowd of people.
