World Bicycle Day was celebrated in Turkmenistan with mass bike rides
On Friday, a mass bike ride was held in Ashgabat with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, organized on the occasion of the celebration of the World Bicycle Day established on the initiative of Turkmenistan, the official Turkmen press writes today.
The monument "Bicycle", which is located at the intersection of Bekreve Street and Chandybil Avenue, was chosen as the place for the start of the bike ride. Members of the government, heads of parliament, military and law enforcement agencies, state institutions of the country, employees of various sectors of the economy, as well as foreign diplomats gathered here to participate in the sports action.
The column of participants of the bike marathon was headed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The bike ride route ran through the capital's Chandybil and Bitarap Turkmenistan avenues. Performances of creative teams were organized along the route.
The final destination of the bike ride was the Rukhyet Palace in the very center of the Turkmen capital. At the same time, mass bike marathons were held on June 3 in all regions of Turkmenistan.
