Turkmen sport: spring starts and medals

It must be admitted that the systematic development of physical education and sports and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle bring tangible sporting results. Unnoticed by ourselves in the country, a generation of young people has grown up, who do not see life for themselves without playing sports and participating in competitions of various scales. The end of April was rich in sporting events, including with the participation of schoolchildren and students from Turkmenistan. ORIENT will tell you about some of them.
Student tournaments in Central Asia
A small mini-football tournament was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Diplomats, together with teachers and students of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy of Uzbekistan (this university was the co-organizer of the event) and Turkmen students studying in educational institutions of the neighboring country, played the Embassy Cup and received medals, prizes and souvenirs.
In Kazakhstan, also with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan, the "Health and Happiness" campaign was held. The venue was the South Kazakhstan State University named after M. Auezov of the city of Shymkent, where young Turkmen citizens are also trained.
In addition to students in the exciting competitions and tournaments in various sports took part and the faculty of the university, and residents of the city.
Archery
Archery competitions were held in the Istanbul Palace of Sports "Demka". In the classical discipline at a distance of 18 meters in a bitter struggle, gold was won by a police officer of the city of Dashoguz Shohrat Dzhumakuliyev.
Another award, but with a bronze ebb, went to the representative of the National Federation of Turkmenistan on archery, Vepa Sahedov.
Among the children, a fifth-grade pupil of metropolitan school No. 27, Ezizmuhammed Sahedov, who occupied the third step of the podium, and 11th grader of the Ashgabat school No. 87, Mohammed Muradgeldiyev, who became the third in archery from 18 meters, distinguished themselves.
Thai boxing
In the open European Championships in Thai boxing and mixed martial arts, held in Kharkov, the Turkmen team were second in the team event, leaving behind only the championship hosts - the Ukrainian team.
The Turkmen athletes have 16 awards of various denominations, six of which are of the highest standard. It is especially pleasant that among the "gold" medalists there are three schoolchildren - sixth-grader Seidulla Akmammedov, 10th-grader Sapar Amangeldiev and 11th grade student Maksat Redzhepov, and two students of the National Institute of Sport and Tourism of Turkmenistan - Bahram Orazmammedov and Dovran Atayev.
