The visit of the Speaker of the Parliament of Tajikistan Rustam Emomali to Ashgabat has begun
Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the city of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali, who arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit on Wednesday, met with Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Rustam Emomali congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the beginning of his activity as head of the People's Council and conveyed to him fraternal greetings and best wishes from President Emomali Rahmon.
Prospects for the development of inter-parliamentary ties, important aspects of cooperation between the two countries in trade, economic, transport, transit, cultural and humanitarian spheres and issues of international and regional importance were discussed at the meeting.
It was noted with satisfaction that the volume of trade turnover in 2021 has tripled compared to previous years, and this trend has continued this year. In particular, significant progress has been made in energy, transport and industry.
In order to expand cultural and humanitarian ties, it was proposed to increase the number of educational scholarships from both sides and to consider organizing Days of Turkmen Culture in Tajikistan in the near future.
Rustam Emomali also met with the Chairman of the Mejlis Gulshat Mammedova. During the meeting, issues of development of bilateral cooperation, including the expansion of inter-parliamentary contacts, were discussed.
