On Monday, May 9, 4 transactions totaling more than 150 million Turkmen manats were concluded at the auctions of the State Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan, ORIENT correspondent reports.

For the first time in the history of trading, Turkmen businessmen purchased granular technical sulfur at the SCRMET. In total, two deals worth 150 million manats were concluded. Entrepreneurs purchased 20 thousand tons of products produced by the state concern "Turkmengaz" at 7.5 thousand manats per ton.

When selling granular technical sulfur to the foreign market since December 2020, there has been an abrupt increase in its price: in December 2020, 300 thousand tons were sold at $ 29 per ton, in February 2021, 250 thousand tons at $ 75 per ton and in January 2022, brokers bought 200 thousand tons of technical granular sulfur at a price of $175 per ton.

Approximately 50% of the use of granular sulfur falls on the production of sulfuric acid, about 20-25% is used in the production of various sulfites, up to 15% for the needs of agriculture as raw materials for the production of pesticides. About 10% of the output is used in the process of vulcanization of rubber.

On Monday, local entrepreneurs also purchased handmade carpets worth 45.3 thousand manats at the SCRMET.
