EBRD investments in Turkmenistan reach 323 million euros


As of April 1, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has invested about 323 million euros in Turkmenistan to implement 88 projects, according to updated data on the organization's website.
In September 2021, it was reported that the EBRD financed 80 different projects in Turkmenistan worth 293 million euros, that is, in six months the total amount of investments increased by more than 10%.
The current EBRD loan portfolio in Turkmenistan is estimated at 49 million euros. 32 projects are currently being implemented in the country with these funds. Most of the investments are directed to the implementation of infrastructure projects.
One of the priority areas of the EBRD's work in Turkmenistan is investment in the development of greenhouse farms, which help the country expand its export potential, reduce imports and create additional jobs.
