Passports of Turkmens living abroad extended until the end of 2024


The validity of passports of citizens of Turkmenistan abroad will be extended until December 31, 2024. This applies to those temporarily residing or permanently residing in other countries of Turkmenistan, whose validity passports for entry and exit from Turkmenistan expire from 1 January 2023 to 30 December 2024.
The decree was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Thursday. The document, published in the evening broadcast by Turkmen government radio station, aims to protect the rights and legitimate interests of Turkmen citizens, who are currently living abroad due to persistent restrictions on international travel due to the pandemic. The resolution was also adopted in accordance with Article 29 of the Law of Turkmenistan "On Migration".
