USAID helps entrepreneurs from Turkmenistan enter the international market through eBay


The USAID Entrepreneurship and Business Environment Project, in partnership with the ITC EU Ready4Trade Central Asia Project, announced the launch of a competitive selection process for the eBay Central Asia hub program, which helps entrepreneurs in the region sell their products on eBay.
Program participants will be able to receive trainings and receive individual consulting support on creating an eBay store, connecting to the Payoneer payment system, special DHL rates, product listing and sales promotion. Applications for participation in the program are accepted until April 29 through this link.
An introductory online meeting will be held for potential program participants, where the benefits of participating in the eBay Central Asian hub will be presented and answers to frequently asked questions will be provided. Manufacturers of unique products or creators of works of art can become participants in the program. Basically, eBay buyers in North America and Europe are interested in non-mass produced products that are unique and not widely available in their countries. For example, handmade carpets, home decor items, accessories, paintings, miniatures, other handicrafts, art objects.
Fun facts about the eBay Central Asia hub program for the first quarter of 2022:
– The most expensive item sold was a Turkmen traditional carpet from Carpets Empire (Turkmenistan), sold for $810 + $113 shipping,
– DiSORELLE Kyrgyzstan brand sold the most products in the first quarter of 2022, namely: 45 women's shirts,
– The top-selling seller was Art Feruz (Uzbekistan), which sold 14 paintings for a total value of $1,670.90.
