Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has been elected to the Council of Elders (aksakals) of the Organization of Turkic States, the Anadolu news agency reports with reference to the secretariat of the organization.
The contribution of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will contribute to the deepening of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Turkic world in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, the Council of Elders expressed confidence.
