Spring season of horse racing started in Turkmenistan


The spring season of races started in the homeland of the famous Ahal-Teke horses. On Sunday, 10 races took place at the Ashgabat hippodrome at distances from 1.4 to 2.2 kilometers, with about a hundred elite racers participating.
The first three races were at a distance of 1400 meters: in them, each in its group, the leading were - the horse Yildyhan from the Ahal-Teke equestrian complex (1 minute 34.9 seconds), Garaperhat from the stable of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan (1 minute 31.1 seconds) and Akmonjuk belonging to the Ahal-Teke equestrian complex (1 minute 33.4 seconds).
The fourth race took place at a distance of 1600 meters, the first to finish was the horse belonging to the private farm of T. Taylyev - 1 minute 45, 9 seconds.
The fifth race at a distance of 2000 meters was most quickly overcome by Dorgunan from B. Ashyrov’s farm, his result was 2 minutes 19.2 seconds.
The same distance in the sixth and seventh races was won by Garador (2.13.7) and Goshasakar (2.19.1), owned by the Supreme Court and the Ahal-Teke equestrian complex, respectively.
In the final starts, the Ahal-Teke team competed at a distance of 2,200 meters, the winners of the longest runs were Dordepel (2.26.1) - the Migration Service of Turkmenistan, Gudzhurly (2.25) - the country's chief prosecutor's office and Turan (2.33.8) - the Ahal-Teke equestrian complex.
Spring competitions on the eve of the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse, which is annually celebrated in Turkmenistan on the last Sunday of April, gathered numerous lovers of the very popular equestrian sport in the country.
... Meanwhile, the international exhibition of livestock and horse breeding Mara'ee-2019, was completed in Manama (Bahrain), Turkmen horsemen with their Akhal-Teke took part in the celebrations. They were invited by the king of Bahrain himself after seeing their performance during a visit to Turkmenistan in March 2019.
