As a result of negotiations between the head of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the President of India Ram Nath Kovind, agreements were reached on further trade and economic cooperation between the countries, which were recorded in a joint Turkmen-Indian statement.

The Presidents stressed the importance of cooperation in the energy sector and discussed the details of the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project.

The Turkmen side expressed its readiness to study India's proposals to ensure the integrity, safety and security of the project through the integration of "business principles" into agreements related to the implementation of the TAPI project.

The head of Turkmenistan proposed that the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway line become a link in the North-South International Transport Corridor in order to facilitate the movement of goods between Turkmenistan and India, as well as beyond them.

Turkmenistan has expressed interest in joining the International Solar Alliance, which is a joint initiative between India and France to promote solar energy in order to implement the Paris Agreement.

During the visit of the President of India to Ashgabat, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Financial Monitoring Service of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the Financial Intelligence Organization of India.

The parties also agreed to increase mutual trade and called on the entrepreneurs of both countries to actively participate in national exhibitions, business forums and other economic events.
