The head of OPEC spoke at the plenary meeting of OGT-2022

Relations between OPEC and Turkmenistan have great potential, said the Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, speaking online at the plenary session of the international forum "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2022".
In his speech, the head of OPEC focused on the forecasts of the global oil and gas and energy markets. The speaker noted that by 2045 the total demand for primary energy will grow by 28%. Oil is expected to retain the largest share in the energy balance throughout the forecast period. World demand for oil by 2045 will reach 108.2 million barrels per day.

According to Barkindo, the demand for oil in road transport will continue to dominate. In the long term, the share of cars running on alternative fuels is predicted to reach a level of about 24% in 2045.
Representatives of more than 300 specialists and experts from 70 companies, including Socar, Petronas, CNPC, Lukoil, Yug-Neftegaz Private Limited, Dragon Oil, ARETI and others, take part in the two-day forum "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2022".

Within the framework of the forum, presentations and panel sessions are devoted to a number of key projects, such as the further development of the Galkynysh gas field, the joint development of the Dostluk field, the construction of the “D” line of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline, the TAPI gas pipeline, the utilization of chemical gases and others. It is expected that during the forum there will be a detailed review of the investment opportunities of Turkmenistan in the oil and gas sector, and the world's leading oil and gas companies will share their vision, experience and prospects for international cooperation in the field of processing and transportation of hydrocarbons.
Turkmenistan, having staked on a deeper and more comprehensive processing of natural gas, not only consolidated its position in the world energy market as the largest supplier of energy carriers, but also qualitatively changes the nature of its presence on it due to the diversification of the commodity structure of energy exports, the active development of new forms of international energy business.

Cooperation in this area is seen as a determining factor in the overall well-being, progress and prosperity. Based on this, over the past few years, Turkmenistan, as one of the leading energy powers on the planet, has been carrying out purposeful international activities, focusing the attention of the world community on energy security issues.
