Unusual scientific discoveries of the descending year

We are not hobbits

For more than 10 years, scientists are trying to determine a place of... hobbits in the chain of human development. The remains of these ancient creatures (hominids) were discovered in 2003 on the Indonesian island of Flores. Researchers for a long time believed that the hobbits, whose height did not exceed one meter, are the degenerate Cro-Magnon people or descendants of a Homo erectus. However, new facts seemingly change these established views. It turns out that the hobbits are much older, and their ancestors lived on the island no less than 700 thousand years ago. It turns out that the branch of the hobbits could be isolated from people more than two million years ago. It is clear that it will not be possible to solve this problem soon. Could somebody learn a foreign language with alcohol? People who have recently learned a foreign language and are not confident in speaking it can get unexpected help. If you take a good portion of the hot drink, all language problems disappear and the foreign one becomes almost native. The scientists of the Old World came to this conclusion, having conducted observations on the Germans who studied the Dutch language.

Evolution does not like smart people

It turns out that being intelligent is not reasonable in terms of evolution. Such results were obtained by scientists looking for the gene of intelligence. The researchers analyzed the data on the heredity of the inhabitants of Iceland, and found that the average for the country with intellect genes gave birth to 6% fewer children than the less intelligent. Most likely, this discovery did not make smart people very happy.

Great Winston believed in “Martians”

It's hard to believe, but it turns out that the British premier Winston Churchill was also concerned about the problems of extraterrestrial civilization. Moreover, at the end of 1939, when the Second World War had already begun, and the Prime Minister was short of time, he wrote an article, “Are We Alone in the Universe?”, but never sent it to the editorial office of any publication. The manuscript was found in the American Museum in Fulton and was handed over to experts. Researchers highly appreciated the work of the famous politician, and believe that his understanding of the issues of extraterrestrial life has not become outdated even today. Churchill did not consider man to be the crown of cosmic evolution and quite admitted that there are many galaxies that are suitable for life in the universe.

Did men set foot on the moon afterall?

Skeptics deny the obvious scientific facts, not because they are ignorant or stubborn, but because they do not want to change their own principles. This is shown by scientists who specifically observed such “skeptics”. If the facts - the landing of a man on the Moon and others - are contrary to the fundamental foundations of a person's worldview, he simply does not accept them, and creates his own, an interpretation of what happened, even if it contradicts scientific conclusions. Scientists recommend not changing the perception of skeptics in the forehead, throwing figures and facts. First of all, the doubters need to be explained that science does not deny the basis of their worldview. And only after that you could tell them about something new.
