Kyrgyzstan came up with an initiative to speed up the creation of a joint devel-opment fund with Turkmenistan and start its work this year.

The statement was made at the meeting of the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov with his Kyrgyz counterpart Ruslan Kazakbaev on the platofrm of the meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Islamabad, reports Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

The establishment of the fund should contribute to the creation of favorable con-ditions for the development of trade and economic cooperation between the coun-tries, it was emphasized during the talks.

The ministers also discussed the upcoming fourth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, noting the great importance of this format of ne-gotiations for the development of regional cooperation.
