Turkmenistan is developing a new concept of foreign policy
Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, during a government meeting with the participation of members of the State Security Council, said that at present the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies and consulates of Turkmenistan are based on the Concept of Foreign Policy for 2017-2023.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs proposed to start work on the preparation of a new Concept of the foreign policy course of neutral Turkmenistan within the framework of the long-term Program of the country's socio-economic development for the next 30 years, adopted at a meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh.
Having approved the proposal, President Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution according to which the Deputy Prime Minister must prepare proposals on the draft Concept of Turkmenistan's foreign policy for 2023-2030 by June 1.
The same document created a working group to develop this concept.
Today, 40 diplomatic missions and consulates of Turkmenistan operate abroad. Turkmenistan is also represented in 15 international organizations.
The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been operating in the country for 12 years, which provides the diplomatic corps of Turkmenistan with professional personnel.
