Turkmenistan and the UN verified the priorities of interaction
Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met on Thursday with the heads of the United Nations agencies accredited in Turkmenistan - the UN Resident Coordinator Dmitry Shlapachenko, the representative of the UN Development Program Narine Sahakyan, acting. head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Philip Saprykin.
During the meeting, its participants assessed the course of implementation of joint projects, and also discussed possible options for interaction in the implementation of the planned socio-economic programs.
Among the topics touched upon during the talks were the preparation and holding of the presidential elections in Turkmenistan, scheduled for March 12 this year.
The day before, on Wednesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov received UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Narine Sahakyan, who presented her credentials to the Head of the Foreign Ministry of the country.
They analyzed the joint work and outlined its priority areas for the future, among which particular importance is attached to the digitalization of the economy, its diversification, mitigation of the negative effects of climate change, cooperation in the field of healthcare and social protection of the population, etc.
