Turkmenistan will study the ways of transit of its energy resources to the Middle and Near East


Turkmenistan will consider the possibility of transiting its natural gas through neighboring states to the countries of the Middle and Near East. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed Deputy Prime Minister for Fuel and Energy Complex Shahym Abdrakhmanov to study this issue at a working meeting on Tuesday.
In addition, the head of state instructed another Deputy Prime Minister, Charymyrat Purchekov, who oversees the electricity industry in the government, to hold talks with interested parties on the transit of Turkmen electricity through neighboring countries.
It was noted that these issues should be on the agenda of intergovernmental commissions. Instructions were also given to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on the organization of negotiation processes of bilateral and multilateral format, taking into account the interests of producers, transit countries and consumers of energy resources.
