Turkmenistan is ready to strengthen cooperation with China in the natural gas supplies area, including working on the construction of the 4th line D of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline. This was stated by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the negotiations with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
Last Thursday, a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan was held, at which the results of the work of the economic sector for January were summed up. Below are the main statistical data – the growth of indicators for January 2022 compared to January 2021 – announced at the meeting:
– the country's GDP growth amounted to 6.2%
– the country produced 7.7% more products,
– the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan produced 13.1% more liquefied gas,

– the electricity exports increased by 33%,

The EU countries are interested in increasing the import of natural gas through the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) to prevent further price hikes for natural gas on the European market. And Turkmenistan can facilitate this. The European commissioners and representatives of the governments of the EU countries discussed this topic at the 8th Ministerial Meeting of the SGC Advisory Council in Baku.
Moscow considers the prospect of Russia's participation in the TAPI gas pipeline project (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) as "politically attractive", said the Russian Special Presidential Envoy to Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov. He added that the previously considered most problematic issues of ensuring the safety of this project have lost their urgency at the current stage.
