Berdimuhamedov approved the Hydrogen Energy Roadmap for 2022/2023

During a government meeting on Friday, by his resolution, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved the Roadmap for the development of international cooperation of Turkmenistan in the field of hydrogen energy for 2022-2023.
The document was signed after the report of Deputy Prime Minister Rashid Meredov, according to which it is planned to establish a close partnership with the UN Center for Technologies Related to Climate Change, which has been operating since 2013 under the auspices of UNEP (United Nations Environment Program) and UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization). To date, documents have been prepared for the implementation of projects with this specialized UN structure, which from the Turkmen side will be signed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection.

In 2019, Turkmenistan approved the National Climate Change Strategy. A document has been developed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the country by 2030.
An important place is given to the introduction of high technologies to ensure environmental safety, including the development of low-carbon energy. And in this regard, hydrogen as a fuel resource has not only a high energy value, but also reliable environmental characteristics.
