Berdimuhamedov criticized regional authorities for the agro-industrial complex and roads
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov criticized the work of the heads of regional administrations for the low pace of agricultural campaigns, and also expressed dissatisfaction with the level of road transport construction on the ground.
The Deputy Prime Ministers and the General Prosecutor of Turkmenistan were invited to the working video conference held on Mondays with the heads of regions.
The governors reported on preparations for the spring sowing campaign in their regions and other seasonal events in the agricultural industry. Summarizing the voiced data, the president pointed out weaknesses in the organization of pre-sowing work and named specific areas in each region where there is a delay from the schedule.
The head of state also criticized the deputy prime minister for agriculture, Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev, and demanded that the situation be rectified.
General Prosecutor Batyr Atdaev spoke at a meeting with a report on the results of inspections on the fact of the use of road construction equipment transferred to the balance of regional administrations for the development and more efficient maintenance of local transport networks. However, there was no effect - road construction work in the regions slowed down, equipment was not used rationally, timely replacement of spare parts was not provided.
Such a state of affairs is unacceptable, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said and instructed to continue the initiated check on this issue.
According to the president, there are other shortcomings, including in the implementation of the Rural Program on the ground, despite state support for the development of regions.
He instructed the governors to organize the work properly, and the vice-premiers - to strengthen control over activities in the regions assigned under their supervision, to prepare proposals for the development and modernization of the road transport infrastructure.
