Three ships for Turkmen fleet funded by IBRD and OPEC Foundation

Three naval vessels will be built for the Turkmen fleet through loans from the Islamic Development Bank and the OPEC International Development Fund. Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdymukhamedov reported on the financing of these projects at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday.

Approving the proposals, the President of Turkmenistan signed the documents, according to which Development and Foreign Economic Bank of Turkmenistan will conclude an agreement with the IBRD and the OPEC Fund to finance the construction of two Ro-Ro vessels (for freight and passenger shipments) and one ship. The agreements will also include the operation of these vessels after their commissioning.
