Though the advantage of Mercedes team in Melbourne was not in doubt, but a year ago, in Bahrain, it was the Ferrari racers who dominated during hot weather on abrasive asphalt.

The climate in Bahrain is extreme hot – over 35-40 degrees Celsius during the summer in the middle of the day, so, since 2014, the race is held as a night event under floodlights. However, even after sunset it is quite hot here.
The race will be held at the Sakhir Circuit, the length of which is 5.412 km. The distance has 57 laps. The track is one of the most demanding for rubber in the Formula One calendar.
The Sakhir Circuit is located in the middle of a desert, and the surrounding sand was a bit of a headache for the organisers. On Friday, there is a lot of sand on the asphalt, but during the tour, the condition of the track improves noticeably.
Russian pilot Toro Rosso Daniel Kvyat told about the differences of Australia and Bahrain tracks:
“Bahrain's Sakhir circuit is a much-more comparable reference than Australia's curious and quirky Albert Park; it is a real racetrack that would show the real potential of our car”.
On March 17-19, on the invitation of President Berdimuhamedov, the King of Bahrain accompanying by a delegation paid a state visit to Turkmenistan.
During the number of meetings, the parties, in addition, agreed on cooperation and signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
