Turkmenistan and Tatarstan: focus on oil and gas cooperation
On 22 September the government delegation of Turkmenistan, headed by the deputy-prime minister for oil and gas sector Maksat Babayev, has been recently received in Kazan by the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
The parties discussed a number of coordination issues regarding bilateral cooperation in the fuel and energy complex, said the press service of the President of Tatarstan.
In particular, the meeting, attended by the chairman of the State Concern "Turkmenneft" [Turkmen oil] Dovletdurdy Hadjiyev and the general director of the Public Joint Stock Company "Tatneft" Nail Maganov, deliberated over prospects for realizing joint projects between the two companies.
Within the framework of the visit to the Tatarstan capital, the rector of the Kazan Federal University Ilshat Gafurov apprised the high-ranking Turkmen officials of the latest scientific developments and infrastructure of the university, which is one of the major research platform of “Tatneft”.
The laboratories of the University have presented the guests with the results of surveys in predicting of oil and gas presence and technologies for the development of high-viscosity oil pools.
The Turkmen delegation also visited the Nizhnekamsk industrial hub, which is home for a number for petrochemical facilities.
