On Wednesday, the President of Turkmenistan held a meeting of the State Security Council on the results of the past year and key issues for the coming period.

During a face-to-face meeting with the leadership of security and law enforcement agencies, the head of state signed personnel documents.

By a presidential decree, Police Lieutenant Colonel Myrat Babagulyev was relieved of his post as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs. Police major Vepaly Ataev, who worked as the head of the Ashgabat city police department, was appointed to this position. Major Merdan Muhammetmyradov has now headed the police department for the capital.

In addition to reshuffles in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the head of state signed a decree on the appointment and dismissal of judges.

At the meeting of the State Security Council, decisions were also announced on issues of some units of the Border Troops, in the field of customs control and freight traffic statistics, internal migration of the population.
