Nature is a place where all conditions for human existence are created. But it also requires respect for itself and its resources, which are not unlimited. While we are here and enjoy all its benefits, we must protect nature and the world around us, each day making a personal contribution to transforming the planet, preserving its wealth for future generations. This is exactly what is taught by the example of the staff of the UN Office in Turkmenistan, for whom the preservation of the Earth and the rational use of its resources have become part of everyday life. Guided by the motto “change the world around you,” the office switched to energy-saving lamps, installed special devices on all floors that automatically turn off the light in the absence of a person. Employees also adhere to the rational use of things. For example, they collect all the waste paper that has accumulated over a certain period of time in the office, and then they hand it over to private entrepreneurs for further processing, which minimizes waste and emissions to the environment. For things that employees do not use at home, special Donation boxes are installed in the building, the contents of which are donated to charity. Thus, they give a second life to things. In order to protect nature from environmental pollution and preserve ecosystems, the UN Country Office tries to abandon the use of plastic bottles or glasses at various events. Theu are replaced by presentable decanters and glasses made of glass. Everyone can make a contribution to the preservation of the planet. On March 30, the global Earth Hour campaign will be held worldwide by the World Wildlife Fund as a public call for environmental issues. This largest mass movement in the world unites a huge number of people under one common goal - to make the planet better, to save its wealth for future generations. To do this, just turn off the light from 20:30 to 21:30 local time in solidarity with global efforts to protect nature.
