This week, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited Mary and Lebap regions of the country, where he inspected work at the Galkynysh gas field and other facilities of the fuel and energy complex.
From the news of the official press about the working trips of the head of state, the following became known:
– in 2021, 34 billion cubic meters of natural gas were supplied from Turkmenistan to China,
– more than 247 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced at the Malay field,
– new deposits of natural gas were found near the Galkynysh field, which are planned to be developed,
– new fields of Gunorta Mary and Demirgazyk dervush can increase the gas resources of Turkmenistan by 126 billion cubic meters,
– on the basis of the Galkynysh field, it is planned to create an industrial cluster of innovative orientation.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed to hold an extraordinary meeting of the People's Council (Halk Maslahaty) in early February, which will consider and approve a new program for the development of the country for the next 30 years.
Acting Minister of Mines and Oil of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Shahabuddin Delawar said that the TAPI gas pipeline project (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) will be practically launched in the second half of 2022.
