Stable Afghanistan is equitable to interests of all countries of the region. The president of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani stated it, addressing the 9th conference of heads of ministries of foreign affairs “The Heart of Asia-Istanbul process» in Dushanbe, as informs Ariana News. «Today is not just a wish for the Afghan nation but a necessity for the people, Afghans have been deprived of this right to peace for 42 years», - reminded Ashraf Ghani. The president also marked that the regional consensus on this issue is vital for Afghans, and expressed hope that the conference “The Heart of Asia -Istanbul process” will bring an end to the on-going war in Afghanistan. At that Ghani noted that the delegation of power in Afghanistan to another president should be carried out according to the country’s Constitution. The Taliban must call a cease-fire, and the international community must monitor it. Instead of war the Taliban must put their legitimate demands on the table, - Ghani said. Reiterating earlier statements, Ghani said Afghanistan is in a position to play the role of an Asian crossroads in the region and that good relation between countries in Central Asia was critical to the development of Afghanistan. The ninth ministerial conference “The Heart of Asia - Istanbul process” under the name « Strengthening Consensus for Peace and Development» was held on Tuesday, March, 30 in the capital of Tajikistan - Dushanbe.
