Two new subjects are being introduced in the universities of Uzbekistan

Spiritual and enlightenment work in the country’s universities will be strengthened in Uzbekistan. Bachelor and MA courses of universities will be supplemented by new subjects aimed at promoting spirituality. In addition, Centers for Spirituality and Enlightenment will be created across the country, Uzbek media informs. Starting from the 2021/2022 academic year, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of Uzbekistan has been tasked to supplement the curricula at the bachelor courses with the subject “Manaviyatshunoslik” (“Spirituality studies”), at the MA courses – the subject “Kasbiy Manaviyat” (“Professional spirituality”), and also to organize training in the specialty “PR-manager” at the MA course. In addition, special Centers for Spirituality and Enlightenment (Manaviyat va ma'rifat maskani) will be created in all districts and cities. They will be engaged in strengthening the social and spiritual activities in the territories, increasing spirituality in the minds of the population, especially youth, ensuring cohesion in families and makhallas (systems of relations between residents of one quarter that have been long existed in Uzbekistan over centuries).
