Berdimuhamedov and Matvienko discussed the holding of the Inter-Parliamentary Forum in Ashgabat


President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, being in St. Petersburg to participate in an informal meeting of leaders of the CIS countries, spoke over the phone with chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.
Particular attention was paid to inter-parliamentary cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia. In particular, according to the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, Berdimuhamedov and Matvienko discussed issues related to the preparation and holding of the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asia and the Russian Federation in Ashgabat in May 2022.
The President of Turkmenistan also proposed to hold a meeting of the Dialogue of Women of Central Asia and Russia in Ashgabat simultaneously with the forum.
It was noted that the format of the Women's Dialogue has a great future at the UN level as a platform for interaction in world politics. In this regard, the interlocutors spoke for the development of a resolution of the UN General Assembly, which would emphasize the importance of the Dialogue in increasing the activity of women in state and international activities.
