President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov defined that the cooperation with Russia and its regions is one of the main vectors of Turkmenistan's foreign policy.
The Logistics Center of Turkmenistan will be established in the Astrakhan Region of Russia. It should increase the trade turnover between the parties.
In January-September, the foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region amounted to about $200 million. It is also expected that the Astrakhan region will increase the supply of industrial goods and agricultural products to Turkmenistan.
The industrial development of the new Agarguy field has begun in Turkmenistan. More than 300 thousand cubic meters of natural gas are already sent from it per day by the Turkmenistan-China pipeline.
Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi noted that his recent visit to Ashgabat was a breakthrough. "We have had issues with Turkmenistan for five years" - he said. - During this trip, both issues of relations and transit were resolved."
At a meeting with representatives of Iranian business circles in Ashgabat, the President of Iran promised that "thanks to the goodwill of the two countries" the gas contract with Turkmenistan will be renewed.
