Asian Games 2017 is serviced by the best Turkmen doctors and invited foreign medical specialists
One of the most important and inalienable components of the successful holding of the Ashgabat 2017 Games, as well as any large sporting event, and especially such a massive one, is qualified medical care.
34 experienced foreign specialists were involved in the provision of necessary medical assistance both in the competition facilities and in the Rehabilitation Center of the Olympic town: traumatologists, surgeons, neurosurgeons, orthopedists, resuscitators, cardiologists, ophthalmologists, and others.
For the duration of the Asian Games, 22 German doctors arrived to Ashgabat on a special invitation, and, together with Turkmen colleagues from the Directorate of International Medical Centers, conduct consultations and provide the necessary assistance to the athletes who addressed them.
The rehabilitation center, being a medical point of the Olympic town, is also intended for the rational use of the time free from competitions with the purpose of restoring the strength and physical fitness of the athletes. For this purpose there is a swimming pool, a circular shower, Charcot's douche, general and local baths, a gym, physiotherapy rooms, massages, cafes, etc. All doctors' offices are occupied by highly qualified specialists with international experts. It should be noted that all medical supplies and medications provided to participants in the Games are compliant with the European Standard.
In the system of public health and medical industry of our country, a lot of preparatory work was done for the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, including the training of Turkmen doctors.
Along with the best specialists from abroad, our sports physicians who have passed international accreditation are involved in the Rehabilitation Center of the Olympic Town.
