UIET sees the basis for the development of ties in the ECO region in public-private partnerships

At the business forum of the Organization for Economic Cooperation, board member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Kerim Akmamedov outlined in his speech the prospects for regional cooperation with the use of public-private partnership mechanisms.
He drew the attention of representatives of the business communities of the ECO member states to the favorable geostrategic position at the crossroads of continental routes and the potential of Turkmenistan in the field of international transit, transport and logistics infrastructure, including the possibilities of the International Seaport of the city of Turkmenbashi. Also recently, the first section (Ashgabat-Tejen) of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat international autobahn began to operate, which will connect all regions of Turkmenistan along the East-West and North-South lines.

Further stimulation of the private sector for the modernization and dynamic development of the production sector, innovative activities of companies and individual enterprises that confidently master new market segments, including foreign ones, will contribute to their successful competition. In this regard, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan will play a decisive role.
The representative of the UIET also recalled that Turkmenistan, which has observer status in the WTO, a couple of days ago, on November 24, submitted an official application for membership in the World Trade Organization, which will contribute to the dynamic development of the national economy, strengthening its position in foreign trade, and successfully promoting domestic goods on world markets, expanding multilateral cooperation, attracting foreign investment.

The system of WTO rules, being the basis for the regulation of international trade relations, will be a reliable guideline for the improvement and practical application of national legislation in this area. In this context, the interaction between the companies of the ECO member countries can receive an additional impetus for development.
Akmamedov assured the forum delegates that the legislation of Turkmenistan regulating public-private partnership is a reliable legal basis for the progressive development of regional economic relations, including with the participation of a dynamically developing private sector.
