The Turkmen Agricultural University became a platform for a regular meeting of representatives of the university, agrarians and entrepreneurs of the country, at which topical issues of agriculture were discussed. Meetings in this format are held every Saturday to consider and analyze proposals designed to support agricultural producers and strengthen the country’s food security. The main issues on the current meeting agenda are understanding the role of mineral fertilizers in the life of plants, their importance for raising yields, improving indicators with the rational use of NPP (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium), enhancing soil fertility. Kerim Akmammedov, the founder of Tama Agro ES, having delivered a report, introduced the participants to the manufactured products such as complex fertilizers for nutrition of the most important agricultural crops. The enterprise specializes in the production of mineral nutrition - NPP, liquid complex fertilizers, fodder salt, iodized edible salt, calcium polysulfide solution, as well as cat litter. The plant with a capacity of up to 60 000 tons per year produces mineral nutrition to meet the demands on domestic and foreign markets. - Plants, soil and fertilizers closely interact. However, an unbalanced nutrition can not only reduce the productivity of plants, but it also worsens the quality of the crop, the entrepreneur says. The harvest, as Kerim Akmammedov said, is made up of a combination of various factors: weather conditions, effective application of mineral fertilizers, agro-technical measures, quality of seed, etc. When using modern technologies, it is imperative to apply protective equipment, since weeds are the main competitors of cultivated plants. Turkmen farmers participating in the meeting noted that it was useful for them to hear about the correct use of fertilizers and nutrients, as well as various effects of these on crops. In addition to existing products, new fertilizers that can be produced from local raw materials were also discussed during the seminar.
