On Wednesday, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the participation of the Deputy Prime Ministers for the Fuel and Energy Complex and the Financial and Economic Sphere and other leaders, discussing with them the issues of increasing the production of energy resources and diversifying their exports, attracting investments in this key industry.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shakhim Abdrakhmanov, who oversees the oil and gas industry, reported at the meeting on the current progress in the modernization of the capacities of the hydrocarbon sector, its digitalization and deeper processing of raw materials, the search for the most profitable ways to enter promising foreign markets.
Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov reported on the financial and economic block of issues, including those related to innovative industrial development, integration processes, investment projects.
The head of state formulated the main tasks of the day on the agenda under consideration and gave a number of instructions to the leaders. The presidential instructions concerned both improving the efficiency of production in the fuel and energy complex through advanced methods, and increasing its investment attractiveness, conducting a thorough analysis of world consumption of natural gas, trends in energy markets and fuel prices.
They also talked about building effective cooperation with foreign partners, working out new agreements for the supply of Turkmen gas to neighboring countries and countries of the region.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ordered to accelerate the industrial development of the super-giant Galkynysh field, as well as to ensure the growth of hydrocarbon production in other locations of the deposits. The president drew the attention of managers, first of all, to the best world practice, which should be studied and thoughtfully applied both in management and production throughout the entire cycle - from production to transportation and processing, and in organizing the sale of fuel and energy complex products abroad.
One of the tasks concerned the preparation of detailed proposals for the technological re-equipment of production enterprises in the oil and gas sector, geological exploration service, etc.
