More than 150 000 manats will be able to receive large families in Turkmenistan
The government of Turkmenistan has increase the amount of state allowance of maternity pay at the child's birth. The corresponding amendment was made to the Social Protection Code of the Population of Turkmenistan and will enter into force on January 1st, 2022.
Previously, the right to parental benefit after the birth of the fourth child was limited to 500% of the base rate established for calculating state benefits. Earlier, after the birth of the fourth child, the family could count on payments for 500% of the base amount established for calculating state benefits. Now, giving birth to the fifth child, this figure will be 600%, the sixth child - 800%, the seventh child - 1000%, and the eighth child and subsequent children - 1200%.
From 2021, for calculating the state allowance in Turkmenistan was set at 354 manats. Thus, a woman who has given birth to her eighth child in Turkmenistan during their three-year child-care leave continued to receive a monthly allowance, which was now equal to 4,248 manats every month until the child attains three years of age.
In addition, women who have given birth to eight or more children will have the opportunity to retire at 52 for two years earlier than previously established by the Code on Social Protection.
