Entrepreneurs will be given more than 300 thousand hectares of land for a long-term use


326 thousand 29 hectares of land will be given for long-term use to joint-stock companies, farms, other legal persons and citizens of Turkmenistan.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved corresponding plans at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Tuesday. Creation of new ground funds was co-ordinated with regional mayoralties within the Program of development of the agricultural complex of Turkmenistan for 2019-2025, Deputy-Chairman of the Cabinet Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev informed.
The land will be allocated to tenants for 99 years. Not less than 70% of the land they should grow agricultural crops included in the state order - wheat, cotton and others. The remained land will be used for scientifically well-founded crop rotation, fulfilment of state production plans for produce of other kinds of agricultural crops.
The Turkmen leader noted that agriculture opens ample opportunities for development of small and medium size business, and private investments in in the agro-industrial complex can become a basis for opening of new hi-tech manufactures and creation of workplaces.
