The briefing for mass media in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan brought together representatives of media communities from about 20 countries


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held on Tuesday a briefing devoted to the results of the visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Istanbul for participation in the 8th Summit of the Turkic council, and also the organisation of the Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Ashkhabad for local and foreign journalists and observers.
Foreign participants joined the meeting through video conferencing. Among them were representatives of mass-media of Azerbaijan, Austria, Afghanistan, Belgium, Great Britain, India, the United Arab Emirates, France, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, Romania, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Ukraine, as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan informed of it on its site.
At the meeting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vepa Hajiyev who underlined special value of entrance of Turkmenistan into the Cooperation Council of Turkic speaking states as an observer, spoke.
The Deputy Minister also noted ample opportunities for development of cooperation with Turkic speaking states in such spheres as economy, trade, investments, ecology, science, education and others.
Hajiyev also acquainted media community with the course of preparation for the 15th Summit of ECO leaders of member countries of which will discuss interaction in Ashkhabad on November 28, on the day of establishment of the Organization.
The meeting of the Council of ministries of foreign affairs and also a business forum of the countries-participants of ECO will take place on the margins of the forum. The summit becomes a final event of chairmanship of Turkmenistan in ECO.
Representatives of mass media during the briefing also had a possibility to ask their interested questions to the top officials of the foreign policy department.
