One more large textile complex will be opened in Akhal


The textile industry of Turkmenistan will be replenished with a new enterprise - in Babadaykhan district of Akhal region a modern processing complex will be opened in the near future.
Deputy-chairman of the Cabinet Chary Gylyjov reported on it at the meeting of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with members of the government on Monday.
The new textile complex unites several factories and is designed for annual processing of 3, 3 thousand tons of fine-fibered yarn, 20 million square metres of fabrics and 3, 5 million units of ready sewing production. In the building and equipment of the large enterprise, over 151 million US dollars were invested.

At the meeting, the head of the state urged bring the enterprise to design output and also to take care of improvement of professional skill of its personnel.
The textile industry plays an important role in diversification of Turkmen economy and creation of new workplaces. The development of the sector was essentially influenced by the decision completely to process all crop of cotton grown in the country that caused increase and modernisation of processing capacities, rise of export of ready textile products.
In August 2021 in Akhal, Kaka district, the textile complex of full cycle similar to which will soon be opened in Babadaykhan district, was commissioned. In realisation of the Kaka project, more than 147 million US dollars were invested.
