Austria counts on expansion of economic cooperation with Turkmenistan


Having aimed at restoration of economy after the coronavirus pandemic, the government of Austria intends to stimulate development of relations with the countries of Central Asia as a whole and with Turkmenistan in particular. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria Michael Linhart said about it at the meeting with his Turkmen colleague Rashid Meredov in Ashkhabad on Tuesday.
The diplomat noted that the good basis for economic cooperation between the countries earlier had been put, and today Austria is interested in strengthening of interaction, concrete definition of its directions.

During the visit to Turkmenistan headed by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria the business delegation discussed with the Turkmen party a possibility of joint work in energy, transport and public health services spheres. The sides also paid attention to investment cooperation, rise of goods turnover.
Linhart stated that in the field of economy, there is a non-realised potential between the countries, and the present visit is a message that the Austrian business is ready for cooperation with Turkmenistan.
Naming possible spheres of interaction, he mentioned a theme of climate change to which recent global action of high level in Glasgow was devoted. In this context, the diplomat pointed out that the Austrian companies make high technologies on preservation of the environment and sustainable energy. He also supported adjustment of contacts in the area of public health services, transport spheres - both on a bilateral basis, and in the region of Central Asia.

– Austria can offer you quality and reliability. Reliability of our production is that we can guarantee from the government of Austria. Our message is that - we are here, with us our business, and we are ready for cooperation, - Linhart said.
