Members of the UIET plan to increase the production of fruit and berries

To meet the growing demand of the population for fresh berries and fruit, entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan increase the area of land allotted for planting appropriate crops and continue to build refrigerated warehouses in the regions of the country for storing vitamin products.
This year, 65.2% more land was allocated for planting berries and fruit in Turkmenistan than in 2019, according to the data of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. The business is aimed at producing more than 40 thousand tons of products on 7,585 hectares.
The President of Turkmenistan signed a decree according to which 38 refrigerated warehouses are planned to be built in the country in the coming years, the total capacity of which should be 193,250 tons. 11 of them have already been commissioned, and the remaining 27 are at the design or construction stage.
The state program for increasing the production of export-oriented and import-substituting products in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025 envisages the construction of 8 more refrigerated warehouses, which in total will be able to store 62,200 tons of vitamin products.
Increasing the production of berries and fruit by entrepreneurs is a worthy contribution of the country's business community to ensuring food security and good health of the population. All this becomes possible thanks to state support - the allocation of land for long-term use for growing various types of vitamin products, the provision of soft loans for the purchase of seeds and necessary equipment for this.
