The head of the Global Gas Center spoke about the prospects of the global energy market

Speaking via video link at the 26th International Conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan" (OGT-2021), Chairman of the Global Gas Center René Bautz spoke about the prospects for the global gas industry in the energy arena.
The expert noted the importance of decarbonization strategies in the gas industry. The rapid movement towards decarbonization is largely driven by consumer demand for cleaner energy.
The industry has set itself an ambitious goal – to achieve such emission reduction indicators that will allow it to retain the right to operate both during and after the transition to a zero-emission energy system.

Companies in the oil and gas sector have good opportunities to participate in solving the climate problem – they have powerful scientific, engineering, financial and managerial competencies.
René Bautz spoke about the huge role of natural gas as a fuel with the lowest emission intensity.
Natural gas has an advantage over other combustible minerals in terms of CO2 emissions, it burns cleaner and is efficient to use.
The latest research confirms that green gas will replace many other hydrocarbons in the future, Boutz said.
