Tokayev: Kazakhstan expects to develop partnership with Turkmenistan


Kazakhstan expects to give a serious impetus to the further development of strategic partnership with Turkmenistan. This was stated by the head of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the talks in Ashgabat with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in a narrow format.
“I personally deal with the issues of development of strategic partnership, cooperation between our states and I think that this direction of our foreign policy is a priority,” Tokayev said, according to the official website of the head of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Berdimuhamedov stressed that the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan will give a powerful impetus to fraternal and strategic bilateral relations and will bring them to a qualitatively new level.
The heads of state discussed a wide range of issues, paying special attention to building up political, trade-economic, transport-transit and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
The message also emphasizes that following the talks, a number of important documents are expected to be signed.
