Superiority of Thailand in Muay Thai was contested by Turkmen team

The winners were Mustafa Saparmyradov (67 kg) and Jennet Ainazarova (57 kg). Saparmyradov was victorious over Mana Samchaiyaphum with a score of 30-27. In the quarter-finals and semifinals he also knocked out his opponents from Kyrgyzstan and China. The victory of our athlete is due to his rich experience in international competitions in Thai boxing in different years. So, in the year 2016 Mustafa received a silver medal at the World Championships in Muay Thai in Sweden. Ainazarova defeated her rival from Thailand Sirisopa Sirisak by the technical knockout, providing Turkmenistan with the first gold medal in Thai boxing among women. Jennet also has a rich experience of performing on the world stage. In the year 2016 she was a participant in the Asian Beach Games (ABG) and performed at the World Championships organized by the Federation of Amateur Muaythai Asia (FAMA). Yanly Kavisova (54 kg) also brought bronze medal in the treasury of Turkmenistan in this discipline. She lost 3 points to her rival from Thailand, Yadrug Tehiran. As a result, Turkmenistan took the third place in the standings with 11 medals (2 gold, 1 silver and 8 bronze). On the second place was Iran with 8 medals (3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze). The national team of Thailand by right topped the standings - 7 gold medals and 3 silver medals. Chinese team has no equal among the weightlifters; they have 7 medals, 5 of them gold, one silver and one bronze. Following the People’s Republic of China (PRC) is Vietnam: 2 gold, one silver and one bronze. In the third position is Turkmenistan: 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze. The first gold for Turkmenistan in weightlifting was won by Rejepbay Rejepov. He lifted a weight of 162 kilograms in a jerk and 191 in chest heave with his own weight of 76.71 kg, thus defeating rivals from 9 countries with a total result of 353 kg. The second in this category was Shakjod Khudayberganov from Uzbekistan with a total result of 342 kg. Third place was taken by Iraqi weightlifter Ahmed Al Husseini with a total result of 323 kg. Chinese team with two gold medals is currently leading in the track cycling, Iran team has one gold medal, India team has two silver medals, Kazakhstan team has one silver medal, Thailand team has two bronze medals and Indonesia team has one bronze medal. According to the total number of medals for the 5th Asian Games “Ashgabat 2017”, Turkmenistan wins with a significant margin: 59 gold of 148 medals. Iran team remains in second place with 52 medals, 16 of which are gold. Thailand today rose from sixth to third place: 13 gold out of 39 medals. The top ten also included (in descending order) Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, India, and the Republic of Korea.
