Turkmenistan participated in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia
The Sixth Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) took place in Nur-sultan on Tuesday, for participation in which in an internal format the Turkmen delegation under the leadership of Deputy Chairman, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov went to Kazakhstan.
Within the limits of visit, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokaev received the head of foreign policy department of Turkmenistan. As informed by the site of the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral and multilateral partnership, regional and international agenda.
Productivity of the meeting of presidents of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan within the limits of the Consultative meeting of heads of states of Central Asia, which took place in Turkmenbashi in August, 2021 was noted and preparation for the VI Summit of heads of the Caspian states and 15th meeting of heads of member states of ECO was discussed.
During the speech at the ministerial meeting of CICA he noted that Turkmenistan, having the country-observer status in this association, shares principles and goals of its work, namely, attainment of peace and security in Asia by means of political dialogue and cooperation, strengthening of general security.
Meredov invited member countries of the Forum to take part in the International conference «Peace policy and trust - a basis of international security, stability and development» which will take place in Ashkhabad on December 12, 2021
The given action will sum up the wide international campaign on the further formation of traditions of peace and confidential coexistence of people, universal formation of culture of peace and trust in the international relations, pointed out the head of Turkmen delegation.
As he said, the Turkmen party suggested expanding interaction of CICA with the United Nations, ECO and other authoritative organisations with a view of realisation of general tasks and values. Besides, a number of offers of the Turkmen party and possible perspective directions within the limits of joint activity on the basic measurements of work of the United Nations were designated.
