UIET at Expo 2020 Dubai: from tradition to digitalization
National Day of Turkmenistan, which was held on October 9 at the World Expo 2020 Dubai with the participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, attracted great attention of visitors to the pavilion with a huge image of a Turkmen carpet and a sculptural composition of five Akhal-Teke horses.
For the national exposition, a Turkmen company built an iconic demo center with an area of 1.6 thousand square meters, which brought a bright and attractive touch to the diversity of the exhibition city with its distinctive artistic style.
Thus, from the very start, the Turkmen business represented by “Tekmil” demonstrated excellent architectural opportunities and design solutions in Dubai. But inside the building, visitors were amazed by the digital filling.
In addition to impressive media installations, the technological component of the Turkmen pavilion was demonstrated in the products of various industries, including the enterprises of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the country.
First of all, these are goods of the electronic industry, new for Turkmenistan, but actively developing thanks to the effective organization of public-private partnerships in this area and the initiative of domestic business.
Smart TVs, computers and tablets, mobile phones and other gadgets of Turkmen production have recently entered the domestic market and have caused not only an almost fierce demand among the population due to an affordable price, but also the interest of external buyers.
Another branch of the Turkmen economy, which is experiencing a boom today, again thanks to the rapid activity in the entrepreneurial environment, is the production of building materials. The tasks of import substitution and export orientation are being solved here as successfully and downright giant steps as in the food sector.
The traditional business segment is decorative and applied folk art, which has grown from ancient crafts and handicraft production to design studios and fashion houses.
On the Expo 2020 platform in Dubai, Turkmen business seeks to present the inexhaustible potential and unique profile opportunities of its large industrial, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups, in order to unite and collaborate to create genuine partnerships with all stakeholders.
