In Afghanistan a female journalist was the first to get vaccinated for COVID-19


In Afghanistan the injection of the first dose of Corona vaccine (COVID-19) was symbolically injected into an Afghan female journalist, - as informed by mass-media.
Vaccination against coronavirus infection started in Afghanistan on Tuesday, February 23. The first party of the vaccines was delivered to the country with support of India.
Besides the female journalist, law enforcement officers and workers of the Ministry of Health got vaccination in the building of the Presidential Administration of Afghanistan.
President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani told that the situation with the novel type of coronavirus is in the country under control, and that the authorities will make all for fair distribution of the vaccine.
India in the beginning of February transferred to Afghanistan 500 thousand doses of the vaccine for coronavirus. At present more than 55 646 000 people in the country have caught COVID-19, 2435 people have died.
